DNN Google Analytics Advanced 01.03.00 released

We’re happy to announce the availability of DNN Google Analytics Advanced 01.03.00. In addition to a new option “Anonymize IP” that adds privacy to your users and analytics data, the new version includes bugfixes and improved support for Evoq Content.

  • New feature: Added option “Anonymize IP”.
  • Improvement: Disable tracking if Evoq’s “Google Analytics Pro” is disabled.
  • Bugfix: Fixed event tracking for URLs with non-standard HTTP ports.

New feature: Added option “Anonymize IP”

The new option “Anonymize IP” adds privacy to your users and analytics data, e.g. the IP addresses are anonymized before the data is stored. In some countries, like Germany IP addresses anonymization is required due to privacy policy. IP addresses anonymization is disabled by default in DNN Google Analytics Advanced, but could easily be enabled by just checking a checkbox as shown on the following screenshot:

Please note that this option slightly reduces the accuracy of geographic reporting. See here for more information about IP anonymization in Google Analytics.

Improvement: Disable tracking if Evoq’s “Google Analytics Pro” is disabled

With DNN Google Analytics Advanced 01.03.00 we add support for Evoq’s “Goole Analytics Pro” enable flag, i.e. DNN Google Analytics Advanced is enabled if and only if “Google Analytics Pro” is enabled. The following screenshot shows the checkbox that is used to enable resp. disable “Google Analytics Pro”:

Bugfix: Fixed event tracking for URLs with non-standard ports.

The new version fixes a bug that prevented event tracking for URLs with non-standard ports, i.e. port unequal 80 for HTTP or unequal 443 for HTTPS.
